THURLOW NUNN PREMIER DIVISION
THETFORD TOWN 4 FRAMLINGHAM TOWN 2
Framlingham Town led twice in this mid week game on a warm evening in front of a good-sized crowd. Without a league point the Castlemen took the game to the home side and had the initiative for most of the first half. From the off Fram dominated the early play, Cyrus Thorpe shot wide before the home side pushed forward, Coomer- Willis and Wood shot wide before Alex Lings shot hit the post and rebounded back into play on 8 minutes. On 16 minutes Danny Smith was through on goal on the angle but shot wide before another chance for Fram fell to Cyrus Thorpe who guided the ball into the far corner from 10 yards out to open the scoring on 28 minutes. Two minutes later a free kick from Fancett was parried by Chilvers and the follow up from Wood was saved to keep Fram in the lead. As half time approached the Fram defence were unable to clear in their own penalty area and the ball fell to Ross Bailey who dispatched a shot beyond Chilvers from 18 yards out to equalize. Disappointing for the visitors who had dominated much of the first half. The second half started well for Fram, Max Willett’s cross shot was parried by Viners only for Danny Smith, who reacted quickest, to score from close on 48 minutes. A minute later the home side equalized when Andrew Wood slotted past Chilvers and with Telmo causing problems for the Fram defence, Wood scored his second with Chilvers unable to react. Fram had a good spell of play in the latter stages of the game as keeper Viner made two good blocks from Alex Ling and Danny Smith but it was the home side who completed the scoring when Cambell turned his marker and was allowed space to shoot past Chilvers on 90 minutes. The goal just before half time for the home side certainly uplifted them for the second half however Fram must be pleased with the overall positive performance the team put in.
