Frickley Academy is urgently seeking sponsorship for the 2015/16 season following news that their last sponsor is not continuing with their support.

With time now at a premium before the new campaign starts the Academy are looking for local businesses for their support in any way they can.

Frickley Academy has been running for two seasons now supporting the parent club, Frickley Athletic. It currently has age groups every two years ranging from Under 5’s to Under 19’s which sees around 100 players involved with the Academy across all age groups. The aim being to eventually filter local players into Frickley Athletic’s first team squad, something that is already taking shape with several of last season’s Under 19’s being registered with the first team and Brad Dockerty going on to sign a contract with the club. Additionally, two younger players have already signed with professional clubs at Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley.

For the coming season new equipment is required for different formats as the age groups move up with additional pitches needing to be found to match the sizes required at different ages and additional equipment such as balls, cones, bibs, nets and assistant referee’s flags are also required, whilst the Under 13’s specifically require a new set of 21’ x 7’ goals at a costs of circa £800.

With increasing numbers joining the Academy additional coaches are required who need to be qualified so in most cases courses will need to paid for. The Academy is also required to have its own club referee who also needs to be trained through a referee’s course. Most importantly, as the kids grow and new players join new kits are also required.

The Academy also runs youth clubs for the kids on a monthly basis and equipment and entertainment is always needed.

Therefore, the Academy is keen to hear from any local business who are able to come forward and support the Academy in any way. This could be anything from providing a donation to buy new footballs or other individual pieces of equipment to becoming the main sponsor of the Academy.
