Frickley make groundbreaking signing!!!

4 months ago By Michael Johnson

Setting the standards for others to follow once again

In what is thought to be a first for a UK semi professional football club & possibly a first for any football club in the world, Frickley are proud to announce that they have signed UK Grime & Garage pioneer Jammer (real name Jahmek Power) as their artist in residence. Jammer said it was an honour to ‘represent’ the club who he has followed since the days of Gary Hatto. He is expected to provide pre- & post-match entertainment for the players & also sing his most popular hits on the players coach to away matches.

A club spokesman who is something of a connoisseur of the UK Grime scene, said he was ‘gassed’ at the signing having seen Jammer ‘slew his soundboys’

What’s that you say…..oh, it’s not that one!

Ahem….

In what is thought to be a first for a UK semi professional football club & possibly a first for any football club in the world, Frickley are proud to announce that they have (re-)signed ex Scarborough defender Jammer (real name Jameel Ible) as their big number 6 in residence. Jammer said it was an honour to ‘represent’ the club who he has followed since the days of Gary Hatto. He is expected to provide clean sheets & the occasional goal at the other end.

A club spokesman who is something of a connoisseur of long limbed central defenders, said he was ‘gassed’ at the signing having seen Jammer play alongside John Cyrus. “It’s jolly exciting” he added “having completed the paperwork in my garden, he even helped me select some hardy perennials for a South facing border with heavy clay soil” (photo to follow).

Welcome back Jameel!

Also joining us is Nicky Darker, 32. The former Stocksbridge, Maltby Main, Goole and Belper Town man who can play in a number of positions adds more depth and experience to the squad.

Gaffer Spencer Fearn stated “we have two more excellent additions to add to the signings of Jake and Danny so far this week. The fans will all know about Jameels’ quality and it’s great he has chosen to come back to us at Westfield Lane from Scarborough where had had another impressive season, he will be a very important player for us for sure. In Nicky we have a player who has spent most of his career in midfield, but has of late converted to a centre back where he has been excellent. He is competitive, technically very good and was a fans favourite with his style of play at his previous club”

Welcome aboard Nicky
