The Blues are at home on Saturday as we dip our toe into this seasons FA Cup at the preliminary round stage, our opponents are Runcorn Town, kick off 3pm.

This is the earliest date (calendar wise) that we have ever entered the competition - prior to that it was 30 August 1980, when we beat Denaby United 3-1. The last time that we started at the prelim stage was in 1982 when we beat Shildon 5-3, scorers were Hooley (2), Marshall, Reedy from the spot & an OG - wonder what happened to those players.....

We should have a full squad available for the game versus our visitors from the North West Counties League, who observed the theory of natural selection in the last round by beating Darwen. Promises to be a good game so get up the Lane, bring a friend, have a pie & a pint & get behind the Blues
