Assistant manager Jason Maybury said that the club were delighted to welcome the defender to the club. Maybury said, “Stuart can play either centre half or right back and is very accomplished in both positions. He will add pace and aggression to our defending and he is a good organiser too. He is just the type of character we want to bring to the club. At 25 he is a good age with a lot of experience at this level and above.”

Maybury added, “We are close to where we want to be in terms of the squad and we are looking forward to getting started next week. We have signed some good players and hopefully they will compliment the players we have kept from last season. We have a good competition for places now so it’s up to all the players to show us what they can do.”
