The Blues' good recent run of results came to an abrupt end as they went down to an 88th minute headed goal at Stamford this afternoon.

The home side had already had two goals ruled out for offside earlier in the second half when Jake Newman rose to head in at the back post following a right wing corner.

The Blues had enjoyed the better of the first half without creating any clear cut chances but had two strong penalty claims waved away following questionable challenges on Tyler Williams.

The game turned Stamford's way when the Blues lost Macaulay Parkinson through injury on the stroke of half time, forcing a reshuffle with Tom Davie moving to centre half and Sam Akeroyd to right back as Brad Grayson came on. This enabled Stamford to dominate for long spells in the second half.
