New signings Fernando Moke and Leon Osborne both made their debuts with Moke being the more influential of the two on the day. Jimmy Ghaichem and Tyler Collishaw were the players to miss out, with Ghaichem occupying a place on the bench.

Michael Oates gave Trafford the lead after 25 minutes and the same player was on hand to score Trafford's second on 67 minutes after James Hitchock failed to hold on to a shot. Martyn Andrews added the third on 73 minutes before Shelton Payne wrapped up the scoring with a fantastic individual effort on 83 minutes.
