From our away fixture at Southwell City last night

A very entertaining game for the neutral......but I didn't see any neutrals in the ground. The lads will feel like it is 2 points lost rather than an away point gained - especially having conceded with almost the last kick of the game.

Frickley took the lead with their first attack of the game, a cross came in & Shaun Carrington channelled his inner Gareth Bale with an overhead kick that the flew past the keepers gloved paw.

However, some 'not particularly textbook' defending led to the home team achieving parity & then taking the lead within the first 10 minutes. The Young Azzurri looked a little nervy & maybe the months break since their last fixture played a part.

Carrington took charge again & had a great surging run but his shot was well over. Then it was Sherburns time but he stood on the ball as he was about to pull the trigger, & Greaves follow up shot was blocked. Greaves & then Sherburn both created chances for themselves but couldn't find the net.

Frickley win a corner, Greavesy with a lovely delivery & Liam Carrick smashes home to make it Archbishop Desmond Tutu just before half time. This was Greaves last action as he picked up a knock & was replaced by the Big Dog, Lewis Szanto.

This wasn't the last action of the half though - Ben Bool broke & chipped the keeper beautifully. 3-2 Frickley at half time.

Bool was straight back on it - a lovely team move set him up for a cracking shot which was met with an equally good save. Then Sherbs broke but his shot was cleared off the line.

Plenty of midfield endeavour by both teams with Frickley being the stronger - Big Lewis surged into the box but his shot went over. The ref broke up the play a little, handing out unnecessary cards - a bit like the ugly kid at school at Xmas, trying to get someone to like him

Just as it looked like the Blues would see the game out, Southwell broke & a chip (almost as good as Bools earlier effort) found the back of the net to make it 3-3 & that was the final score.

The Blues were a little short of their recent performance levels in the first half, but played much better football in the second half.

Stand outs to my untrained eye - the triangle of Brad Mears (right back / wing back), Liam Carrick (left back / wing back) & Ben Bool (centre mid), Sam Race was quality again & Greavesy was a constant threat until his injury as was Sherbs. A good team display overall in the 2nd half.

On a geographical note - Southwell looks to be a lovely little town centre, but that is based on me driving through it once....at night. So don't book your holidays based on my recommendation

Manager Chris Chapmans thoughts on the game - "A lack lustre performance from our boys but we still shared the spoils. We are still working on the belief in our philosophy and showing composure to dictate the pace of the game, which we don't currently do consistently.

Frustrating to concede the equaliser so late on in the game but it was coming. Good bits of play from our lads showing their capabilities but unfortunately not consistent enough, but we have had quite a break which could have implicated in the performance gaps.

Overall we are developing well and showing what we are capable of, there is still loads more to see from this group of individuals"
