Nantwich Town 0-0 Frickley Athletic
Stephen Dickinson pulled off a series of fine saves to keep Nantwich Town at bay and earn the Blues a crucial away point.
The home side were quickly on the front foot with Si Everall playing in Michael Lennon after just 4 minutes but Dickinson was out quickly to block his effort.
Three minutes later Everall shot just wide of the right hand post from just inside the box.
The Blues' first attempt came after 11 minutes but Ryan Mallon's 25 yard shot went high and wide.
On 20 minutes Nantwich centre half Mat Bailey headed inches wide of a post following a cross from the left but the Blues responded a minute later with Grant Darley having a low 18 yard shot parried by Brain.
The two sides largely cancelled each other out for the rest of the half until the 43rd minute when Stuart Ludlam brought down Dave MacPherson 20 yards out and Andy White's free-kick grazed the outside of Dickinson's right hand post.
The second half saw Nantwich enjoy plenty of effort from outside the box but only a few of which seriously troubled Dickinson.
On 57 minutes Bailey headed over the bar when unmarked following a corner and shortly afterwards Peter Rinkcavage replaced Danny Walsh with Ollie Ryan.
Lennon scuffed an 18 yard shot straight at Dickinson on 64 minutes whilst Nantwich sub. Sean Cooke short wide from 20 yards 6 minutes later.
Matt Lowe got goal-side of Mallon inside the box on 77 minutes but Dickinson reacted quickly to push away his angled shot.
Brad Grayson replaced Grant Darley as the Blues side started to seek a much-needed winner. On 82 minutes South chested down a Bleau cross from the right for Mallon to have an 18 yard shot saved at the foot of the post.
But it was the home side who continued to create chances with the Blues largely lacking in creativity.
On 84 minutes Cooke turned inside the Blues' box and flashed an angled shot across the face of goal and 3 minutes later Dickinson blocked an 18 yard shot from Lennon and got up quickly to block the rebound from Everall.
A minute later the Blues came the closest to scoring than they had done all game when Ludlam met Ashmore's corner with a header which looped over Brain but Darren Moss headed off the line.
There was still time for Lowe to find himself in acres of space on the right of the box to hit a fierce shot across the face of goal and then in the last seconds of the game Cooke sent a ball across goal for Everall who looked odds on to score at the far post but Dickinson brilliantly blocked his effort at the foot of the post.
