Not a great day to be a Blues fan

The Blues delivered another performance that must have the management team pulling their hair out as they followed up last Saturdays excellent away win with a lack lustre performance that was high on effort but low on quality & application.

New signing Julian Lawrence came straight into the back line & Kuda, Tyler & Luke Mangham formed the front line following the recent departure of Noel Burdett.

From a spectators point of view there was little of note in the first half - the highlights being an excellent goal line clearance by Macca on 20 minutes, a quality run & shot by Tyler which was comfortably saved, a good free kick by Macca which was met by a glancing header by the debutant which the keeper just managed to keep out & a scintillating run by Luke Hinsley which the defence were able to clear.

Warrington took the lead with a shot that was destined for the beer garden in the Upton Arms but took a huge deflection & looped over Sebba & hit the underside of the bar & dropped in.

HALF TIME - FRICKLEY 0 WARRINGTON 1

Kuda came off at half time & was replaced by Cam Rigby

Frickley tried to get back on terms - a free kick led to Joe Thornton having a good effort & then intelligent build up play led to Luke Mangham having an inswinging cross cum shot saved by the keeper.

However shortly afterwards Warrington increased their lead - an attacker broke clear & rounded Sebba but Macca (I think) pulled off another amazing goal line clearance but the same attacker followed up & netted the loose ball.

Shortly afterwards it was 3 nil but there was definitely a case to be argued for a Frickley free kick in the build up to it. Meynell & Thornton were withdrawn at that point with Jack Waters & Dan Palmer being introduced but the game was already over with 3-0 being the final score

WEBMASTER MOTM - despite the heavy defeat there were some positives. Macca ran himself into the ground, Stohrer & Vallo gave their usual performances but in my opinion the player who was head & shoulders above the rest was new boy Julian Lawrence & he collects the first glitterball of his Frickley career
