Frickley 4 Kidsgrove 4

Four play at Frickley

At 3 nil down after half an hour, I didn't fancy us, at 4-3 up I had us down to win & similarly when we got a penner in the last minute.

However, it ended 4 apiece - a great game for the neutrals, though I doubt there were many neutrals in the crowd of 262 - so most fans will have been pulling their hair out or throwing their caps in the air in equal measure.

Kidsgroves mercurial Malbon, the aromas of the snack bar fresh in his nostrils, pulled the strings all afternoon as the visitors raced to a 3 nil lead with the sniff of an unlikely victory ahead. I've got to say though that the 3rd was the most offside goal I have ever seen. There is no way Malbon can steal a 15 yard lead on our defence if he's starting from an onside position.......unless he's in a taxi.

Up to the half hour it appeared as though the Super Eagles were napping gently in their roost but then Hazel & Allott sensed a complacent wildebeest on the distant savannah & swooped in to deliver 2 lethal blows in the space of as many minutes just before half time. Haze scored after a well taken free kick from Ben Algar - 33 for the season. Then almost immediately Algar is provider again, setting up Gav from about 10 yards.

Half time subby as JB came off to be replaced by Teddy Bloor.

5 minutes into the half & it's parity. Tyler Walton does well & feeds Gav out on the right. Gav shows lovely feet to get into the box & set up Haze - BOOM, back of the net.

Gav almost makes it 4 with a great turn & shot from the edge of the box but the keeper got a good paw on it & pushed it over.

Tyler Blake was replaced by Duggie & shortly afterwards the ball is at Gavs feet at close range & you know what's coming next,4-3 & the Blues are in the lead for the first time in the game. Tyler Walton came off & was replaced by Ishy D. A great home debut by Walton.

Kidsgrove weren't done though & they made it 4 each with about 10 minutes to go

Next up a great chance to make it 5 as Haze is clean through but, I suspect, had too long to think about how he was going to score & this allowed the keeper to make the save.

Right at the death, Haze breaks into the box, the keeper cleans him out & the ref awards a penner (having already had 2 previous opportunities to do likewise) but Jacobs penalty isn't the best he's ever taken & the keeper makes a comfortable save.

4 each your final score & whilst we will all be disappointed to have only taken 1 point from games against Peterborough & Kidsgrove, remember that we have taken 25 points out of the last 30 & that will give it some perspective.

WEBMASTER MOTM - some decent displays but the stand out player to this pair of eyes was Tyler Walton. Always had time on the ball & can pick a pass - great debut young fella!

The club would like to thank the Oxford & London branch of the Supporters Club for sponsoring the match & making a good noise throughout. Please come again gentlemen!!

So dust yoursen off & get up the Lane to cheer the lads on against Alvechurch on Tuesday night
