Chorley 6-0 Frickley Athletic
The Blues were brought down to earth with a bang at Chorley, being swept aside by a sharpshooting home display.
It might have been different if Frickley had seized the opportunity in the second minute.
Danny Walsh put over a cross from the left for Jack Watts, who was held down by Andy Russell, leading to a penalty, but Walsh hit the top of the bar with his effort from the spot.
Chorley came back and were awarded a spot kick in the 13th minute when Adam Billard came out and caught Shelton Payne as he attempted to round the keeper, Steve Foster making no mistake to open their account.
Five minutes later, Andy Russell headed in a cross from the right from close range to improve the home advantage, but the Blues almost reduced the arrears in the 21st minute.
Chorley goalkeeper Russ Saunders needed two attempts to smother a powerful 25 yards shot from Grayson.
On the half hour, Foster broke through the visiting cover and chipped the advancing Billard to send the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the net.
Jack Watts had an angled 15 yard drive saved in the 45th minute before Tom Ince burst down the left in the fourth minute of stoppage time and crossed for Foster to complete his hat trick with a fine header.
The Magpies maintained the tempo on the restart, Chris Denham having a shot on the turn from the edge of the penalty area well saved by Billard after 51 minutes, and the Blues keeper did well to push away a close range effort by Lee McEvilly in the 63rd minute.
Alex Callery and Carl Jones combined well for Frickley in the 74th minute, with Callery's shot being deflected behind, but the corner kick was quickly cleared and Payne showed his pace to outstrip the visiting cover to beat Billard from the edge of the box.
The Blues tale of woe continued in the 90th minute when James Ashmore lost the ball to Simon Whaley who crossed for McEvilly to swivel and find the net from 15 yards.
