Cove FC 3 Frimley Green 0
Frustrating day for Frimley
After 4 games unbeaten, Frimley headed into this fixture looking to make it 5.
Several changes were enforced, with Top Scorer James Robertson unavailable, Ben Dearlove also absent and Nana Afull, Scott Sanders and Tyler John still recovering from injury.
The opening half was heavily mixed of Frimley creating chances, but failing to score, Rapley with an effort cleared off the line after he had rounded the keeper, Raps also with a header which only just clipped the bar and a few other chances we just couldn't put away.
Frimley however gifted Cove their opening goals.
First Jim Ward slipped and then misplaced his pass and subsequently gave Cove a Penalty, 0-1
The Second, the back line stopped with a player in an offside position, however a late runner ran through, rounded Cunningham in goal and slotted home. HT 0-2. Harsh on Frimley who could and should have been in front.
Second half was again scrappy, and although Frimley again had chances with Joel Bernard 1-1 with the keeper but saved, Baxter with a far post effort and then Bernard again hitting the post.
Cove's third goal again a mistake from Frimley. Cunningham came out of his goal, his header fell straight to the feet of the scorer who lifted it over the keeper to make it 0-3.
A Moment of controversy as Cove made a change. The linesman checked the oncoming players boots and asked his name. Subsequently, the name given, wasn't one of those on the Cove team sheet and the referee confirmed he was not eligible to play.
FT and it ended 0-3 to Cove. A frustrating day, Frimley weren't great, but neither poor and on another day, we could have gone in at HT in front. However today wasn't our day and we move onto the next game.
Next week, we entertain AC London at The Rec, in our last home game of the season. 3pm. Come on Down.
