Fullerians U13s really rose to the challenge presented by Letchworth U13s, a team playing in two Divisions higher. The 31 – 5 victory for the home team can be put down to a great team effort. Fullerians had 70% possession which was down to the tenacity at the breakdown, pressure on the opposition scrum and competing favourably in the lineout. The try count of 5 to one was reflective of the dominance of the home team, where genuine progress with all round play has been observed. As a measure of the improvement in passing and ball distribution among the backs, the wingers had more contribution to the result today than in previous games.
Fullerians showed strength in depth with rolling substitutions complementing the play of the starting XV. The game plan practiced during training with all boys in the U13s is starting to pay dividends.
The try scorers for Fullerians were Noah Pressler, Dylan Godfrey (2), Moses Mutalaga and Keegan Scholtz. Jacob Forrest had his kicking boots on today, kicking 3 out of 5 conversions, as well as pinning the opposition back in there half with astute decision-making when kicking from hand.
