We welcome all boys and girls who started year 1 in September 2016, who are interested in playing tag rugby. For season 2016/17 we will be taking on the RFU new continuum rules for U6 tag rugby (details on the RFU website). We will also be playing friendlies with other clubs both home and away.
Come and join us at our training sessions held every Sunday morning at 10.00 from Sunday 4th September 2016 to the end April 2017. These training sessions comprise warm-ups, fitness activities, ball handling skills and match practice. Children are allowed to attend 3 training sessions to see whether they enjoy tag rugby, before we expect them to join the club.
We run the U6 team alongside the U7 team and they have joint training sessions and the same coaching team.
We train on the area to be found next to the patio / benches outside of the clubhouse.
If you are interested or would like further information please contact Nick Mooney (Head Coach) or Louise Robinson (Team Admin)
All our coaches are fully DBS checked and most hold a RFU qualification to ensure a consistently high quality of coaching that always places enjoyment and safety first. Most of our coaches began by deciding to get involved, rather than watching from the sidelines, and we always encourage parental involvement be it as coaches, first-aiders, referees or just vocal support!
In the interests of safety and appropriate behaviour, we ask that parents or another responsible adult remain at pitch side during the training sessions/matches.
The U6 team are not allowed to have competitive matches at this age group. We therefore arrange joint training sessions with other local clubs and run these along the U7 fixtures; these are listed on the website. However, children need to be registered with the club and RFU before they are allowed to take part in these events.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact Nick or Louise who will be more than willing to help.
