Miners in League Cup action tomorrow (kick-off 7:45pm)

It's an all-Leeds derby in this rearranged clash as we aim to make it four games unbeaten at the Southerns Stadium.

Our neighbours The Ammers ended a run of three games without victory with a last-gasp win at Worsbrough Bridge at the weekend, and they'll look to keep the winning habit in their push for promotion. Second-top scorers in the NCEL, Phil Harding and Neil Sibson's side will look to claim a Premier Division scalp and local bragging rights, and Rob Hunter's team will need to be at their best to prevent just that.

We have to go back to our Division 1 days for our last competitive visit here, thirteen years ago. Andy Rowan and Vernol Blair were on target in a 2-1 win for The Miners on 22nd January 2005. The two sides met here in August 2013 for a pre-season friendly in which then new manager Graham Nicholas saw his fledgling side suffer an 8-3 defeat. The most recent meeting came on Cedar Ridge on 20th October 2015 when goals from Lund, Mangham, Simpson and Martin-Wyatt earned us a 4-3 success in a County Cup 2nd round tie.

There'll be a few changes to tomorrow's squad with Pete Lawrie and Dan Coupland unavailable and Mitch Hamilton out injured. Midfielder Aiden Kearsley is expected to return however, and with Steve Weatherill also on the sidelines, we're expecting to complete the signing of ex-Pontefract Collieries goalkeeper Liam Corbett in time for the game.

Not too far to travel so why not give the lads your support. Up the Miners!
