Garforth Towns' pre-season hit a bit of a stutter against the tough, no nonsense Frickley Athletic.

In the early exchanges, it was hard to tell which team was placed two divisions higher, but as the second half wore on, the Blues bossed proceedings and comfortably ran out winners.

Danny South had two bites of the cherry on sixteen minutes, when his header struck a post, fortunately it fell to his feet for a simple tap-in.

The Miners re-grouped and they got the equaliser their play deserved. After a terrific run By Tawanda Rupere, Nick Blck still had a bit to do, but showed composure with a neat left footer that drilled into the corner of the Frickley net.

The home side were soon back on top though, when Gavin Allott knocked in a set piece, one of many that Garforth would struggle to contain.

The second half was a real struggle for Town, with Jack Wakefield and Ashley Flynn adding to their woes.

If anything, this was a good wake up call that there's no time for complacency as the season fast approaches.

Farsley at Cedar Ridge on Wednesday is another big test and also a chance to put in a big performance.
