After a disappointing result at Frickley, Head Coach Graham Nicholas will look to end the pre-season on a high with a positive display against our Evo-Stik Division 1 North neighbours. The Villagers were contenders for the play-offs for much of last season before falling back to finish in 7th place with 75 points from 42 games. They've already played two NCEL Premier sides in their friendlies so far, with mixed fortunes; turning over Glasshoughton 4-0 but losing 3-0 to tenants Albion Sports.

A few familiar faces will make a return to Wheatley Park tomorrow evening; former Miners Adam Priestley, Tom Taylor, Matt Dempsey, new signing Jason St Juste and assistant manager Simeon Bambrook could all line up in the visitors' ranks. The last meeting between the two sides was just over a year ago on 25th July 2013, also in a home friendly which the Throstle Nest outfit won 3-1. Connor Bower with our consolation.
