Difficult opponents in the form of tomorrow's visitors Newton Aycliffe and NCEL Premier promotees Pickering Town on Tuesday should give manager Rob Hunter a good idea of where his side is at as he continues his preparations for the new season.

Deano Brown's side finished 14th in Northern League Division 1 last season, but are set to provide a stern test nonetheless if our previous encounters with Northern League sides are anything to go by.

The two sides have met once before, this was back on 16th August 2014 in the FA Cup and was in fact our last win in the competition. A brace from Jay Davis gave Graham Nicholas' team a 2-1 success at Moore Lane Park to set up a Preliminary Round tie against our then-Evo Stik League neighbours Harrogate Railway.
