Top scorer joins Frickley Athletic....

Striker Mark Simpson has left The Miners to join relegated Evo-Stik North Division club Frickley Athletic. The move potentially sees him link up with former hitman Curtly Martin-Wyatt, although this looks uncertain given the recent influx of players to Westfield Lane. The news is a major blow for manager Rob Hunter who has the task over the summer of replacing last season's 30-goal striker.

His goalscoring exploits last season have been well-covered in other articles, but Mark was our most appeared player in the current squad with 105 appearances to his name (18 of which as sub) and 54 goals.

Despite numerous approaches from other clubs last season, Mark stayed loyal to Garforth and he leaves with our best wishes.
