Twelve of Gateshead Storms 2015 squad have been named in the North East Origins Squad train on squad ahead of their match against the North East Students on Friday 4th December.

With a 7pm kick off at Kingston Park, the home of Newcastle Thunder, a combined squad has been selected from the North of Tyne and South of Tyne squads that recently contested the inaugural North East Origins match.

The match then finished 26-all but demonstrated the depth of ability from across both sides of the Tyne and proved to be an entertaining occasion.

A combined squad made up of players from both squads will provide fierce opposition to the North East Students team preparing for their test match against Yorkshire the following week for the latest Friday Night Lights Fixture.

Jack Adamson, Dan Barron, Chris Burnett, Adam Houston, Andy Morris, Jack Munroe, Dan Mole, Gregg Newlands, David Norman, Alex Taylor, Stephen Welton and Connor Young are all selected in a squad made up of names from all the region’s sides. Alex Taylor and Andy Morris in particularly impressed during the Origin match picking up the man of the match awards for both sides.

Storms inclusion in the fixture doesn't stop there. Head Coach Chris Parker and back rower Ollie Omara will are coaching the North East Students side alongside Newcastle Thunders Micheal Heap.
