Gateshead 3s Vs Stockton 4s
A Game of 2 halves
Despite some unavailability this week and some injuries Gateshead were buoyant prior to the push back. Gateshead started at a very fast tempo, dominating the midfield. With some slick pass and move breaking down each flank with speed. Cooper and Harrison battled well down each wing providing useful balls as well as the midfield engine of Read, Basey and Pearson dominating the first period. Gateshead got into half time 1 up due to a well taken goal from the top of the D by Read.
At the start of the second half Stockton changed tactic and pressed high with good effect allowing them to come back into the game and equalise. With the score at 1-1 tensions were high with both teams losing discipline, and then A nasty injury to Wilson who took a dangerous ball to the hand resulting in a trip to hospital with a potential 6 weeks out at least. With gateshead suppressed Stockton took the lead with 3 minutes to go with Gateshead unable to reply.
So ended a well fought but fractious match. Good effort guys well battled an improvement on last week.
