Although the Club exists primarily as a Rugby Club and The Club's priorities will also be based around becoming the best amateur rugby club in the North East. Amateur rugby clubs have never and should never be based solely upon achievements only on the field of play, they are about friends and communities and about pulling together to do some thing different and special.
Even without a social committee in recent years the club has run some great events. Beer festivals, fete's, presentations, dinners and many more. Some of those events are designed to bring the community in to our club and to raise funds to support Rugby, others like the dinners and presentations are part of any sports clubs calendar. The third type of events are those like the youth sections fireworks night, Christmas parties and the Carol nights that are put on just to offer something a little different and special for our members. Our hope is that the social committee can facilitate more of these members based events.
The plan is to try and do this as a non-profit making section of the club with any money made from raffles or ticket sales only used to subsidise other social events and to do this by either coming up with our own events or helping others to promote, plan and sell their own events.
We hope that everyone will want to get involved whether it is joining the committee, organising an event, offering your help in support or just attending
