40 Years Ago: 17th September 1977

Geddington 1st Team won by 3 wickets away at Irchester. Irchester batted first and were All Out for 130 in 37.3 overs. Brian Toseland (4-32) took four wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also three wickets each for J Russell (3-43) and J Grewcock (3-44). In reply, Geddington reached their victory target of 131 in the 38th over with 7 wickets down, S Higgs (44) top-scored with the bat for the visitors, D Bayes (30*) was also in the runs.
Geddington 2nd Team won by 7 runs at home to Corby A. Geddington batted first and were All Out for 57 in 29.3 overs, Tony Slough (10) was the only batsman to reach double figures for the home side. In reply, Corby A were All Out for 50 in 17.3 overs. Pete Smith (6-17) took six wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also four wickets for W Crossland (4-12).

15 Years Ago: 14th September 2002

Terry Cooper and Mark Toseland were the main performers with bat and ball for Geddington 1st Team in their 71 runs away at Ashby Timken 1st Team. Cooper (115) top-scored with the a century for Geddington in their 241 All Out in 49.2 overs, Miles Knight (36) and Mark Pearson (31) were also in the runs for the visitors. In reply, Ashby Timken were All Out for 170 in 45 overs. M Toseland (5-38) took five wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also four wickets for Mark Pearson (4-28) and a wicket from Steve Toseland.
Geddington 2nd Team lost their final game of the 2002 league season with a 90 runs defeat at home to Desborough Town 2nd Team. Desborough Town batted first and made 216-5 off their 50 overs. Glenn Bell (2-49) and Danny Humphries (2-68) both took two wickets with the ball for Geddington. In reply, Geddington were All Out for 126 in 42.1 overs, Lloyd Creighton (23) and Mark Thomas (20) were the main run-scorers for the home side.

10 Years Ago: 15th September 2007

Geddington 1st Team were defeated by 5 wickets away to Wollaston 1st Team who themselves won the NCL Division 1 title. Geddington batted first and were All Out for 154 in 45.1 overs, Lee Pollard (79) top-scored with a half-century for the visitors, Matt Knight (28) and Steve Toseland (23) were also in the runs with the bat. In reply, Wollaston reached their winning target of 158-5 in the 41st over. Tiaan Raubenheimer (3-50) took three wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also two wickets for Mark Toseland (2-41).
Geddington 2nd Team lost by 7 wickets at home to Weldon 1st Team. Geddington batted first and made 266-6 declared off 46 overs, Marcus Knight (97), James Bye (66) and Mark Pearson (50) all scored half-centuries for the home side. In reply, Weldon reached their winning target of 269-3 in the 42nd over. Miles Knight, Ollie Toseland and Richard Spence all took a wicket each with the ball for Geddington.

5 Years Ago: 15th September 2012

Geddington 1st Team defeated Rushden Town 1st Team by 59 runs at Geddington Cricket Club. Geddington batted first and were All Out for 218 in 45 overs, Paul Smith (62) and Ryan Bell (51) both scored half-centuries for the home side, Stephen Ludlam (29) and Jamie Kay (25) were also in the runs with the bat. In reply, Rushden Town were All Out for 159 in 30.1 overs. Bell (3-31) took three wickets with the ball for Geddington, there was also two wickets each for Kay (2-34), Colin Judd (2-43) and Tiaan Raubenheimer (2-46).
Geddington 2nd Team won by 5 wickets against Old Northamptonians 3rd Team at Loddington Cricket Club. Old Northamptonians batted first and were All Out for 161 in 47.5 overs. Mark Pearson (4-36) took four wickets with the ball for Geddington, Mark Franklin (2-36) also took two wickets and there was also a wicket each for Marcus Knight, Phil Peel and Harry Spence. In reply, Geddington reached their winning target of 162 in the 43rd over with 5 wickets down, Steve Toseland (41*) top-scored with the bat for the visitors, David Goodjohn (40) was also in the runs.
