A New Name On The Geddington Cricket Club Six A Side Winners Trophy As The Headband Smahers Win The Tournament For The First Time.

Geddington Cricket Club 2018 Six A Side Match Report

There is a new name on the Geddington Cricket Club Six A Side Trophy after Sunday's 2018 Tournament, The Headband Smashers captained by George York won the Final against Grange Road.

In the Final Grange Road batted first and made 55-4 off their 5 overs, Harry Bolton (38*) top-scored with the bat, Zachary Byers and Ned Wilson both took a wicket each for Headband Smashers. In reply, Wilson (25) and Ben York (24*) guided the Headband Smashers to victory with 5 balls to spare to finish on 59-2 in 4.1 overs.

Ned Wilson of the Headband Smashers was named Geddington Cricket Club Six A Side Player of The Tournament and wins the Tony Slough Trophy for this year tournament.

In the first Semi-Final, Headband Smashers reached the Final after victory against Geddington School Parents, Geddington School Parents batted first and made 45-3 from their 5 overs, Headband Smashers in reply reached their victory target with 10 balls to spare thanks to an unbeaten 35 from Ned Wilson.

In the second Semi-Final, Grange Road defeated last year's Champions A43 to reach the Final of the competition. A43 batted first and made 58-4 off their 5 overs, Joshua Knight (31) top-scoring with the bat. Cliff Biddle took two wickets with the ball for Grange Road in the first over. Grange Road reached their target with 4 balls to spare, Brodie Biddle (28*) and Brooklyn Biddle (21*) both finished unbeaten with the bat.
