Geddington Sunday Team played their first Sunday Friendly match of the season against Collingtree Sunday XI at Collingtree Cricket Club on Sunday.
Geddington won the toss and decided to bat and made 146-8 off their 40 overs, Benedict Harvey (40) top-scored for the visitors with the bat, Harvey and Brodie Biddle (27) put on 59 for the 2nd wicket partnership, but then wickets fell at regular periods, before Brooklyn Biddle (31) and Harry Spence (16) added some late runs with the bat to get the total up to 146. Gary Ray (2-18) and Chris Pedel (2-19) both took two wickets each with the ball for Collingtree, there was also a wicket each for Stuart Brown, Jack Mounsey & Oscar Simmonds.
In reply, Brown got the Collingtree innings off to a good start by scoring 72 with the bat off 54 balls in an innings which included 8 fours and 4 sixes, Brown and Rob Flight (21) got the home side up to 102-3, but then wickets started to fall, but in the end Ray hit the winning boundary for the hosts as they won the match by 2 wickets to spare in a close fought match between the two sides. Ned Wilson (4-19) was the pick of the Geddington bowlers with four wickets, Brandon Holmes, Spence and Joshua Knight also took a wicket each with the ball for the visitors.
