EMCL ~ Gedling 0 Aylestone Park 3
Miners lose again
Aylestone Park.......3 (Jepson 31, Tyers 76, Brown 87)
A brave fight from the home team but another 3 points surrended
The first half was encouraging with the home side more than matching their high flying opponents. Despite going down to a goal through Jack Jepson on the half hour, Gedling made a fair game of it with a few half chances going begging notably when Damon Charlton hit the post with a decent effort and a couple of Hopper glancing headers.
The half time scoreline of 0-1 was just about right.
It was all Aylestone in the second period and they wrapped the game up in the last quarter with further goals from oncoming substitutes Lee Tyers and Mason Brown.
The Miners tried in vain to compete but, once again, a lack of fire power in the final third was the catalyst. On another day they may have got something positive from the game. Football can be pretty cruel. at times.
A mention for the back line ~ they defended resolutely led by Dwayne Brown and Charlie Roberts.
Gedling Man of Match ~ Dwayne Brown
