The weekend victory finally put an end to the long winless run which stretched back to the previous meeting with Welbeck, way back on 29th August. It was a run of 17 league games, and 19 in all competitions and was only Glapwell’s third clean sheet of the season, and first in 11 games.
And following other results, Glapwell climbed up to fourth bottom in the table and hopefully can now start to look upwards and with four games in the next five at home a few positive results could see the gap close to the teams above them.
Visitors, Bentley Colliery, will arrive three places above Glapwell in 11th place with 23 points from their 20 games. They are not in the best of form, though, with only one victory in their last six games, with five defeats in that process. Their only success in that run was a victory at Kiveton Park at the start of the month.
But they came out on top in the reverse fixture back in November. On that occasion, Glapwell, who were only able to field ten players, fell to a 5-2 defeat with Bentley striker Jack Taylor doing most of the damage as he hit a hat-trick.
