Glapwell will finally hope to beat the curse of the weather in 2016 this Saturday when they make the trip to Bilsthorpe FC, KO 2pm.

It is fair to say that the weather has not been too kind to Glapwell so far this year with only ONE of their seven scheduled league fixtures so far in 2016 taking place due to a combination of rain and frost.
That period of inactivity has seen Glapwell drop to third place in the league although they are still in a good position, sitting four points behind joint leaders Phoenix and Harworth Colliery but with the benefit of three games in hand on each of those sides.
Of course, points on the board are always welcome but with eight of their remaining 13 league games to take place at Hall Corner, Glapwell can also rely on hopeful home comforts, although there is a tasty looking away game at current leaders Phoenix FC which could potentially be a title decider on the final day of the season on 14th May!
The only game Glapwell have played so far in 2016 was a goalless draw at Thorne Colliery four weeks ago, that result ended a ten-match winning league run but it did, at least, extend the unbeaten run in the league to 11 matches, a run stretching back to August, as well as being a fourth successive clean sheet with only one league goal being conceded in their last six matches.
In this one, Glapwell will come up against a Bilsthorpe side that currently sit fourth from bottom in the table averaging a point a game over their 19 league matches to date.
It is easy to forget that they are the reigning champions of the North Division but having lost their management team and entire playing squad at the end of last season, current manager Dean Mitchell has had a major rebuilding task on his hands this campaign.
They have, at least, played on a consistent basis in 2016 but their record hasn't been great, winning just twice in their seven matches since the turn of the year although they have recorded three clean sheets in that time including last weekend's goalless draw at Easington United.
In the previous fixture between the sides at Hall Corner back in October, Glapwell ran out 5-1 winners with the goals coming from five different goalscorers after Bilsthorpe had shocked them by taking an early lead before they were reduced to ten men late on.
With Harworth not being in action, Glapwell have the chance to close the gap on them and they will be eager to put another run of form together with 13 matches remaining and an excellent chance of taking the league title.
Glapwell don't have a great recent record at Eakring Road, though, having lost on their last two trips there, in 2011-2012, before a 2-0 defeat in January 2015 but they will be looking to end that record and record what would be their fourth league double of the season so far.
