Final friendly this Saturday
Glapwell’s schedule of pre-season friendlies will be wrapped up this Saturday with a trip to face Northern League side Marske United at GER Stadium, kick-off 3pm.
In the five friendlies so far, Glapwell have won two and lost three including their last two. Particularly disappointing was Wednesday night’s 3-1 defeat at Calverton Miners Welfare and Glapwell will be hoping for a better performance with the start of the league campaign just over a week away.
Marske play their football in the Northern League, which is Step Five of the pyramid, two levels above Glapwell. They are managed by Craig Gibbins and coached by ex-professional Roy Hunter. This season they will competing against the likes of Darlington and current FA Vase holders Dunston UTS.
