Up against MRA side Chesterfield Town on the 3G pitch at Brookfield Community School, an excellent first half of football saw them romp into an 8-0 lead at the break.
The second half was a slightly different story, in terms of the score at least. but Glapwell still played some good stuff, albeit were a little more wasteful with their finishing, as the visitors pulled a goal back right at the death.
The final score of 8-1 was a great start to the pre-season programme and the squad seemed to gel really well with some really impressive performances from the new players, as well as the existing ones.
The previous Saturday, the team played a warm-up game on Palterton against Sheffield Sunday League side Shiregreen Athletic and ran out 6-2 winners in a game more to build the fitness and to try out new trialists.
