Ten league games in, Glapwell are in a good position currently sitting second in the league just a point behind the leaders with a game in hand.

Other than the back-to-back home defeats to Phoenix and Retford at the end of August, Glapwell have won their other eight league matches played to date scoring plenty of goals in the process.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment has again been the results in the cup competitions after bowing out of the League Cup and Derbyshire Cup at the first round stage to Blidworth and Stapenhill respectively.

But in the league, recent results have been pretty flawless with six successive league victories, scoring 41 goals in the process and conceding only six.

In that time, they have scored eight, nine and ten goals in a match as well as ending Appleby’s 100% start to the season with a 4-0 success at the end of September.

Games against Dinnington this season have seen the record broken for the club’s biggest home and away league victory, with a 9-1 success at Phoenix Park in September followed by a 10-0 victory at Hall Corner last weekend.

So far, eight players have played 10 or more of the 12 matches played so far this season while the club have seen 15 different players score so far this season in all competitions.

Leading scorers so far are Josh Parfitt with 14 while Daniel Russell and Jake Ballinger have both scored nine times while Russell and Parfitt lead the assist charts with 11 and seven respectively.

The stats look good so far, but obviously there is a long way to go this season but, for now, Glapwell can go top of the league for the first time in over five years if they manage to win their game at Dronfield Town Reserves this weekend.
