Following last weekend’s postponement, Glapwell will be hoping to return to action this coming Saturday when the visitors to Hall Corner will be in-form Phoenix FC, kick-off 3pm.

The postponement of the Bentley game was unfortunate for Glapwell who would have been looking to carry on the momentum that they gained from the victory over DFS Welbeck Welfare a week previous.

The forecast for the end of the week isn’t too promising either but if the game does go ahead Glapwell will be up against an in-form Phoenix side that are beginning to climb the table. They go into the game in 11th place, four places and ten points better off than Glapwell.

But their league position is mainly down to their recent form which is impressive. They have enjoyed five victories in their last nine league games and have won their last two. It was the most recent one, though, which is the most impressive as they shocked second placed Dronfield Town with a 2-1 victory.

The previous meeting between the sides came back in September at Pavilion Lane when ten-man Glapwell fought back from a 2-0 half-time deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with goals from Justin Burdett and Lee Easom after Jay Whalley had been sent off.
