Solis come out on top in 'friendly' against a much reduced Pumas VII

Gallant effort by Pumas in friendly defeat to Bromley Solis

U10 Pumas were a much reduced team this week with only 6 regular players available. Leo Currell and Robert Cain were invited to play their first club game with the Pumas in a league game rearranged as a friendly against Bromley Solis. Pumas started with much early promise and most of the early possession without creating any clear cut chances or shots on goal. Bromley then got into the game with a few chances that were saved. The game remained 0-0 going into the final 10 minutes of the first half. Pumas passing, shape and overall play was very impressive up to this stage. There was then an incident where the referee failed to stop play after a Puma told him he needed to tie his shoe laces. Bromley scored from the resulting play which incensed the Pumas for the remainder of the half. This led to Bromley increasing their lead just before half time when our goalkeeper, Brandon Simons, was pushed off the ball for their striker to score in the empty net. 2-0 to Bromley Solis at half time. Pumas gathered themselves at half time and came out with added resolve. Leo Currell pulled a goal back 4 mins into the second half. Pumas were back in the game and their passing and movement was of a high standard. Another goal at this stage would have completely changed the result. However, Bromley scored their third after 36 mins from a long free kick and made it 4-1 in 39th min. Leo Currell grabbed his second in 42nd minute and Pumas were back in the game again. Bromley scored again in 45th min to make it 5-2 before Richard Musayayi made the final score 5-3 with the last kick of the game. Pumas put up a very brave performance and faced tough tackling throughout. Big performances by Harrison Bowden-Brown and Edward Smith in defence. Robert Cain playing in his first club game was solid as our first half CDM and played well as our second half goalkeeper. Luke Perkins, Archie Irwin, Brandon Simons and our MOTM, Richard Musayayi , ran non stop in midfield throughout. It's a performance they should all be proud of and that their manager needs to reflect on.
