Best Value Membership in Scotland?

At only £25 does Glenrothes Rugby Club offer the cheapest annual adult playing membership in Scotland?

Club Treasurer Hamish Brown thinks so. Whether he is right or not there is no doubt that players at Glenrothes get a great deal compared to most of the players from the clubs that they will meet this season.

Working out at less that 50p per week the membership fee makes sure that the player is covered by the SRU player insurance arrangements as well as providing access to all of the clubs playing, training and social facilities.

Despite this some players still do not make enough effort to pay their subscription up front and some have been chased for payment all the way through to the end of the season.

That will not happen this season though as a clear message has been communicated to all players, "If you don't pay your subs you don't play rugby for Glenrothes."

With the first matches likely to be as soon as August 4th the pressure on now on the remaining non-payers to stump up this small amount of cash as soon as possible.

As an added incentive, a limited stock of new training shirts have been purchased for distribution to players who have paid their membership fee and have been regular attenders at training. The first of these shirts will be distributed on Saturday.
