Glens' 1st XV will travel to Dalkeith on the 25th August. Dalkeith play in East Division 2 where they finished runners up in their league of seven scoring over 40 points to 15 per match. The Midlothian men will provide ideal preparation for the Glens' tough Caley league programme.
At the same time Glens' second string will be taking part in a first New Town derby for some time when they visit Livi's Seconds will be certain to provide stern test for a Glens' team packed with youngsters moving up from age grade rugby. But there should be more than enough old heads in the mix to provide wise counsel to the bairns and make a right good game of it.
Both squads will travel to Cupar for a training match with Howe of Fife on the 18th August while the team management remain on the lookout for fixtures on the 11th. If not then there will be an old style "Red v Blacks" trial match at Carleton. Watch this space.
Good luck to the squad heading for Lasswade tomorrow. It is going to be tough going but should be a good day with hoipefully many useful lessons learned along the way.
