End of season events and dates for the start of the new season.

AWARDS NIGHT
A great night was enjoyed by all at the Gilvenbank Hotel on 1st June, as the club made its presentations to all the players who had been involved in a successful season in 2017-2018. Every child or young person who played in a match during the season received a medal, a water bottle, and a certificate for their efforts. And then, the trophies that were introduced last season were given out to the winners, who were:

At the evening the efforts of our two girls’ rugby ‘ambassadors’ Willow Porter and Belle Mauny was recognised, as was the hard work of the team of coordinators who ensure that there is good communication with the club. There was also time to present a fun award to our ‘Supporter of the Year’ and there was much agreement when it was announced that the winner was Trinu Tissler, our Estonian mum, helper and voice of ‘authority from the sidelines!

The final award of the evening was the John Malone MBE Trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Rugby, and the well-deserved winner was Under 16 player Jack Bousie who has come on in leaps and bounds in the last few years. During the season past he was part of the Caledonia Programme and went on to Scotland Blues; his success has promoted him into the Young Warriors training squad for next season.

Just a reminder…
We are asking for all trophies to be returned to the club for engraving by 31st August. Players and parents are reminded that we also need you to complete the form for the trophy if you haven’t already done so – this also can be done at the start of the new season.

One of the highlights of the Awards Night was the drawing of the raffle which included some fantastic prizes. The raffle raised the fantastic sum of £650 for rugby development – thanks to everyone who bought tickets. The winners were:
