New 1st team management appointed at Surrey Street

Glossop North End have moved swiftly to fill the managerial vacancy following the departure of Mark Canning and Andy Bishop.
Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison have been appointed and will take up their posts immediately. They will be planning to meet the players on Tuesday and prepare for the next match away at Ramsbottom.

Chairman Dave Atkinson said, “A mid-season change of manager is never easy. We agreed that we would need to make an appointment as quickly as possible. We are determined to get the club moving up the table and feel that the experience and know-how of Pete and Lloyd is the best way to ensure that we retain our Evo-Stik status. Fortunately, there are no midweek games for the next two weeks, so the new managers will have the chance to assess the team and make their plans for the rest of the season.”

The managerial duo join the Hillmen after being in charge of neighbours the Lilywhites for almost five full seasons, leaving in March this year.
