The Board are pleased to announce the appointment of a new director. Chris Haughton has joined the board with immediate effect.

We are pleased to announce that Chris Haughton has joined the board.
Chris has taken increasing responsibility for the co-ordination of the club’s media activities and will contribute lots of ideas on the development of the club.

“I am very excited to join the board of Glossop North End. Most of you will know me as the loud one who films the matches and produces the highlights and I also manage most of the club’s social media activities, but as a board member I am looking forward to becoming much more heavily involved in the club. I believe that there are areas of the club which we haven’t tapped into yet and can be moved on into the 21st century, including ways of raising the crowds back to and beyond the 1% of the area’s population which I believe not only helps the club off the pitch, but encourages the team on it.
Our amazing volunteers do such outstanding jobs and are the lifeblood of the club, and therefore I will be looking to encourage more people to not only help the existing groups, but then branch out and tackle the areas not yet utilised. However, even if you are unable to give your time and only have ideas, please feel free to pass them over and we will see which of those would help the club.
I am at most matches, so please do continue to greet me as you always have, and I look forward to seeing you all as we go forwards”
- Chris Haughton

We are sad to report that Lesley O’Donnell has decided to stand down as Club Secretary. As some of you will know, Lesley has changed jobs this year. Her new job is full time, involves management responsibilities and is much more demanding. Lesley’s family commitments have also grown with a grandchild, a son playing regular senior football and other responsibilities. Lesley said, “I really am very sad about this as I’ve loved my time at GNE and love the club, and I’ll always be a supporter and do what I can to help, whenever I can.”
Contingency arrangements are already in place. Dan Bates will be taking on the football and matchday secretary responsibilities and Lesley has already put him through a training programme! Peter Hammond has agreed to act as Company Secretary and deal with the legal and regulatory side of the job – which, of course, he knows very well.
