Glossop face third placed Trafford this weekend in a return to league action.
The Hillmen currently sit second from bottom with just 1 win in their last 5 league games.
That win came against Market Drayton where goals from Dominic Marie and Adam Latham sealed a 2-0 victory. There was also a spirited comeback away at Chasetown. Captain Matty Russell scored 2 goals in less than 2 minutes salvaging a deserved point.
The away side visit the Arthur Goldthorpe stadium unbeaten in their last 10 league games. This has seen Trafford travel up the table, they sit just 6 points off 1st placed Atherton Collieries with 1 game in hand.
Trafford have drawn their last 2 games however, an entertaining 3-3 draw vs Newcastle Town followed a 1-1 draw against Widnes.
After conceding 4 in their last 2, Glossop will have to be wary of striker Aaron Burns who has 9 goals so far this season. The forward is currently in his second spell at Trafford. After leaving Trafford in 2016 to join Stalybridge Celtic, the forward re-joined Trafford 1 year later and has continued his goal scoring form from his first spell at the club.
Trafford finished 13 points better off than Glossop last season, finishing the season in 6th. They lost in the play offs 3-0 to Prescot Cables and will be looking to take the next step this season, securing promotion.
Of the current top 6, Trafford have scored the fewest goals, scoring 21 so far this season however they have also conceded the 2nd least with just 15 goals conceded.
Adam Latham has 3 goals since joining Glossop just 3 weeks ago and he will certainly be one to watch this weekend.
After an inconsistent start to the season, Trafford have created some real momentum and will be a tough test for Glossop.
