Glossop Snaked by Wriggly Vipers
In the last encounter of an exciting year, Glossop came unstuck against a mightly impressive Vipers on a very cold morning
Game one saw the A-team come unstuck with the Vipers showing their strength after a fairly even start. Joseph Titterington and Jacob Donnelly were constantly tested at the back and finally came undone when the Vipers broke and had a three v one situation and passed it into the goal. Noah Rowlinson and Dylan Johnston were busy as usual but again at times found themselves over-run as the Blues began to struggle. All the lads did okay but the breaks just didnt come, Joshua Pearson and Lewis Snape could both have had goals but with chances at a premium the ball just wouldn't run for us and the Vipers deservedly won the game due to some quality finishing.
MOMs went to Joshua Pearson and Dylan Johnston
Game two was a different encounter with the B-team fighting out an even battle only to be undone by a couple of late strikes. Thomas Hague was again impressive in goal and Jake Pearson in a new position for him at the back was very assured, Mackenzie Lomas again in a new position upfront showed us glimpses of his pace and together with Ethan Stone had a real battle and got stuck in with some tough tackling. Jack Cowan and Louie Meates also had good games and made it tough for the Vipers to establish any control.
Though this was a defeat, the lads did really well and gave us a hearty end to the year.
MOM was Jake Pearson.
Special congratulations go to Joshua Pearson who has been asked to join the Bolton Wanderers Academy next year, well done lad from all the parents.
As we at the press office ( me and Jacob ) are too lazy to send christmas cards, we would like to wish all players, parents, and coaches a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
