3 years ago By Ben Mills

Over 70 ,7-11 year old girls from local schools attended our first football festival !

On Monday 5th October over 70 girls aged 7-11 attended our Football Festival Skills session as part of the FA's week of promoting Girls Football with the #Wecanplay campaign

Held in conjunction with High Peak Sports Partnership, Glossop North end Ladies, Glossopdale Community College and ATP the afternoon of football was a great success .

Coaches from Glossop Juniors, Glossop North End Ladies and 4 Young Sports Leaders ran a mixed session covering fun , fundamental football skills. Zoey Shaw (Glossop North End Ladies and Glossop Juniors under 10's coach) ran a warm up for over 70 girls !

Glossop Juniors already has girls teams at under 10, under 13 and under 16 with a pathway to senior football with Glossop North End Ladies. We are also delighted to announce a new under 9's team will be formed in 2016 run by Dave Rowlinson and Ben Mills. More details to follow.

We would like to thank High Peak Sports Partnership , Dawn and Anna, Glossop North End Ladies and all the players who attended and Leanne Pace from Glossopdale ATP. Also the 4 excellent Young Leaders , Dave Rowlinson and Julian Shawcross. Thanks also to all local schools for their support.

Finally thanks to Natalie Mills , under 10's coach and School Liaison for putting the programme together .
