Whoops, No Apocalypse.
Sometimes, a scoreline doesn't reflect the true nature of the match, unfortunately, this one does.
Team: Ayden Hughes, Noah Rowlinson, Jacob Donnelly (c), Logan Booth, Jake Pearson, Dylan Johnson, Thomas Kuczaj, Thomas Brogden, Mackenzie Lomas, Will Newman.
At last I have finally managed to pluck up the will power to compose the latest edition of my road to madness.
To make a valid point, this team has played seven games this season, and conceded twenty goals, sixteen of which have come in just two games which I think sums up the up and down nature of the lads both physically and mentally at the moment. Put basically, they are developing as people at different times from each other but essentially are just kids which could possibly explain my journey home ( more tears than a one-d concert cancellation ).
They care, and so do we, so it hurts to see such a lazy performance, the defence will probably get the blame, but the number of times from behind the goal, I was reminded of The Alamo as the Alty hoards charged through against a lonely looking collection of Rowlinson, Donnelly, Booth and our debutant keeper Hughes as several players stood on the half way line 'double-teepotting', was very noticeable.
No scapegoating here, but we win and lose as a team, and we attack and defend as a team, Altrincham were no better than us, they just had more desire from back to front and simply wanted it more. ( New record for clichés in a sentence ).
There were bright moments, goals for Lomas and Johnson, and two crackers from Rowlinson gave the fans some hope, but essentially it was a game to forget, own goals, etc. wiped from the memory.
The fans were warned at one stage ( rightly ) by Sir Dave as certain of the rougher fans were getting mouthy, but only because they care.
Not much else to say, football not great for me at the moment.......sob
MOMs were Noah Rowlinson and Mackenzie Lomas
