So the season finally ends, and after all the weather, injuries, tantrums, comings and goings, The Blues took on The Champions in a nail-biter.
A hat-trick of wins was completed at a blustery former venue of ours, Wright Robinson.
With the senior side narrowly missing out in the play-off semi-final, The Blues warmed the cockles with a stunning performance against Bramhall.
On a blustery, cold yet sunny morning ( first day of the cricket season of course ), a good performance from the Blues saw us take the points.
Despite the apparent league based differences between the two teams, there wasn't much difference on the pitch, and two late goals settled it.
A physical match against a Springhead team, fresh from the Land of Giants film set, saw Glossop edged out in an end to end thriller.
The conditions for once did favour football, and though the pitch was still boggy, this was a game between two excellent pass and move teams.
Its all about fine margins at the moment, and despite creating a host of wonderful chances, we faded in this semi-final
Well, its been a while, but this was a performance with such grit, determination, and dignity, the result was almost a secondary fact.
Sometimes, a scoreline doesn't reflect the true nature of the match, unfortunately, this one does.
Glossop bowed out of the Cup with a rather placid performance that had all the fans scratching theirs and each others heads.
After dominating the game for forty five minutes, Glossop switched off and almost paid the price......
For the first time this season we were at full strength, both coaches and players were all in attendance for what proved to be an enthralling match
