UNIVERSITY OF GLOS ALL GOLDS UNDER-18s 28
BIRMINGHAM BULLDOGS UNDER-18s 26
Good early work by Josh Williams, Luke McMahon, Syd Haskayne and Kieran Cox
laid the platform for their opening try, Lewis McKissick scooting in from acting half-back from close range.
Joel James added the extra points, but Birmingham Bulldogs hit back with a superb try by their outstanding winger Ryan Miller.
Shortly afterwards Liam Walsh added a second visitors try and Sam Shepard's conversion put them in 10-6 in front.
All Golds' Conrad Jones featured in a move which ended in Carlo Calucci sending George Knowles racing in from 30 metres out. James added the extras and All Golds led 12-10.
The Bulldogs regained the lead with a try by Simon Stevens which was converted by Shepard.
The third quarter opened with strong defence from Sam Jameson, Ryan Bayliss and Alex Chapman. It tilted the balance toward All Golds and McKissick sped in again for a try.
James slotted the conversion to put All Golds 18-16 in front.
A good handling move between James and Coles resulted in Josh Williams racing down the touchline for a superb try.
James again kicked the conversion to put All Golds 24-16 in front.
Despite the tackle of the match by McKissick on Miller, All Golds could not prevent Jimmy Little from touching down.
Miller then completed his brace and with Shepard's conversion the Bulldogs led 26-24 with three minutes remaining.
Fine defence by Kieran Cox
prevented a further Bulldogs score and with the referee checking his watch All Golds put together a magnificent backline movement involving Coles, James, Carlucci and Knowles which was finished off in splendid fashion by Connor Jones.
The goal was missed, the whistle was blown and All Golds had recorded a fine victory.
