Paul started playing rugby league when he was 17, in his hometown of Dublin for local side Dublin City Exiles, and quickly fell in love with the game. In his first season, he started every game at prop, and got to the All-Ireland final. Paul then went on to play for Leinster Seniors that year against Munster, where it ran out a 36-36 draw.
The following year, Paul was selected for the Leinster schools/u19 team which he was vice-captain for, and won the inaugural Schools state of origin against Ulster, winning the series 2-0. A couple of months later, he was selected to play for Ireland u19 where he got his first taste of international rugby league, playing against Scotland in Dublin and Wales in Wrexham.
Since then, Paul moved to Coventry for university and had a very successful season, with the university 1sts winning the BUCS Midlands 1A title. He also featured in a few games for rivals of warriors, Oxford Cavaliers.
This year, Paul moved to University of Gloucestershire studying sports therapy, where he featured a number of times for the university 1sts in rugby league, finishing second behind Loughborough University in BUCS Premier South.
Paul has joined the warriors for the 2016 campaign as an eager young player and assistant coach to Matty Robinson.
