About Teens Unite
Teens Unite Fighting Cancer is dedicated to improving the lives of young people aged between 13-24 with life limiting illnesses.

As many as six teenagers a day are diagnosed with cancer in the UK alone.

Teenagers face a complex and often bewildering transition from children's care to adult services. This period of their life is unlike any other time, filled with change, adjustment and emotional unrest.

We want to help improve the quality of life for these young people. Living with one of these illnesses is unthinkable for most people, for teenagers fighting these illnesses they are also compunded by the same insecurities and self doubt every other adolescent goes through.

When a teenager is diagnosed and requires continuous treatment, it places a tremendous strain on all members of the family. We know our Respite Homes will allow these teenagers the chance to take some time out and give them the opportunity to spend time with others in similar situations to themselves.

Our Projected Goals:
Short Term
Help give teenagers quality time together on special days out.
Grants for hair replacement - for teenagers undergoing chemotherapy, their hairstyle is not so much an issue but rather the lack of any hair at all. We are working with White Cliff Foundation to help provide teenagers with a new non-invasive hair replacement.
To set up and facilitate a teens user group and support network.
Long Term and Ultimate Goal
To build our own Respite Homes.
To build "bolt-on' Respite Homes.
Teens Unite Respite Homes will be 'homes with a heart', a place where these teenagers battling against cancer and other life limiting illnesses can receive comfort and support from staff and other residents who understand their problems as no one else can.

Referrals will be authorised by Hospital Consultants, General Practitioners, Social Workers and Senior Nurses to verify the medical condition of the teenager, allowing us to cater for the teenagers / young person's needs.

Our Mission Statement
To help young people build on their self esteem, self confidence and to reduce the feeling of isolation, realising that others are facing similar challenges.
