Goole AFC entertained Whitkirk Wanderers at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds this afternoon and an entertaining game resulted in no fewer than ten goals.

With Gooe AFC manager John Reed away on holiday, Clive Freeman took charge of team affairs against Whitkirk Wanderers, who are coached by former Gooe AFC assistant manager Mick Norbury who included a number of former Vikings in the Whitkirk starting eleven.

Tom Osbourne, Jaymie Hainsworth and Mick Norbury's son Luke all started for Whitkirk, who took the lead in the fourth minute through Edair, it took a while for the Vikings to settle but a fine solo effort from Martin Pemberton on 19 minutes pulled the home side level.

On the half hour mark, new signing Dan Cunningham (brother of Karl Cunningham) chipped in with two goals in as many minutes, before substitute Tommy Agus made it 4-1 on the stroke of half time.

More substitutions at half time saw the home side lose their shape and two early second half goals for Whitkirk through Edair and Ryan Robinson showed Whitkirk were still in the game but two quick goals from Tommy Agus on the hour took the score to 6-3 and a hat-trick for Tommy.

Karl Cunningham finished the game off in the 87th minute making the final score Goole AFC 7 - 3 Whitkirk Wanderers.
