Goole AFC manager John Reed has made the first signings of the summer, recruiting eight players, with four arriving from his former club Buxton FC.
Scott Hartley, Chris Ovington, Sam Liversidge, David Taylor, Mark Baggaley, Tim Council, Matt Stirland and Andy Jackson all put pen to paper following yesterday's first training session.
Highly rated goalkeeper Scott Hartley arrives at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds from John Reed's former club Buxton FC, having made over 350 appearances for the Derbyshire side. Also arriving from Buxton is midfielder Chris Ovington who came through the junior ranks at Leeds United and has had spells at FC United of Manchester, Guiseley, Farsley and Bradford Park Avenue.
The Buxton link continues with the signing of defender Sam Liversidge who spent some of last season on loan at Sheffield FC and former Barnsley youth team midfielder David Taylor completes the Buxton trend.
The players returning and signed from last season are forwards Mark Baggaley, Tim Council and Matt Stirland, meanwhile midfielder Andy Jackson makes a return to the club.
John Reed is expecting to make further signings tomorrow and more over the next week, as players return from holidays.
