FAMOUS PLAYERS

Over the years many famous names have worn the Green shirt of Gorleston Football Club. The ex-Norwich City player and manager Dave Stringer and Bert 'Sailor' Brown, who played for Charlton Athletic, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and England, are perhaps the best known. The Northern Irish International Sammy Morgan played and became manager and ex-Wolves Captain Mike Bailey was also at the club. In the 1981/82 season, England's 1966 World Cup hero, Martin Peters, played for the club.

Other former Norwich City players included Welsh International, Mal Lucas, former Norwich City and Rangers favourite, Dale Gordon and former Scottish International, Robert Fleck, who played for Norwich, Rangers and Chelsea, who have all been player/managers at the club.
